Questions and answers
The questions we hear most from funeral homes, dealers, cemeteries and families. Don't see yours? Call or email us.
Setting
What do you set?
Almost any memorial. Grass markers, slants, bevels, uprights, benches and one and two niche columbaria. Monuments over 2,100 pounds are quoted one by one.
Do you pour foundations?
No. The foundation is arranged by the cemetery, the funeral home or the dealer. Tell us once it is poured and we will schedule the setting.
Do you engrave or add final dates?
No. We deliver and set monuments. Engraving and final dates stay with the company that sold the memorial.
Do you repair or clean monuments?
No. We deliver, set and remove monuments, and store them over winter.
Which cemeteries do you set in?
Any cemetery in Ohio. If the cemetery has its own rules for setters, tell us and we will follow them.
Scheduling and seasons
Do you set in winter?
Yes, as long as there is no heavy snow on the ground and the foundation is poured. If the foundation has to wait for spring, we can store the monument over winter and set it once the foundation is ready.
How do you schedule settings?
We group settings by area, so several monuments go out on one trip. You hear the date before we go.
Can you remove an existing monument?
Yes, in most cases. It depends on where the monument is and whether we have other work nearby. Often the old monument comes out on the same visit that the new one goes in.
Rates and area
How is the price set?
Setting is a flat rate based on the county zone and the weight of the monument. There is no mileage to work out.
How do I get your rates?
Trade accounts can ask for the rate sheet. Send a work order or call us and we will send it.
How far do you travel?
All of Ohio. A single setting far from our usual routes may cost more. Three or more monuments ready in one area go at our standard rates.
Do you set outside Ohio?
Not at this time. We set in Ohio cemeteries only.
Working with us
Will the family hear from you?
Not when a funeral home, dealer or cemetery orders the work. We report to that office, and they stay in touch with the family.
I bought a headstone online. Can you set it?
Yes. Call us before the memorial ships, so we can tell you where it should go. Then we deliver it to the cemetery and set it.
What should I send with my request?
The cemetery name and town, plus the section and lot if you have them. Add the monument type and size, where it is now, and whether the foundation is poured.
Tell us about the monument
Send the cemetery, the monument and where it is now. We reply with a price and a date.
